The Seven conditions of health |
Dr.
Henry G. Bieler, M.D. |
...
We tend to think of health as
something that comes in a capsule purchased over the counter in
a drugstore, instead of as a state which we attain by following
the
laws of nature ...
| |
You can determine your current state of health or disease by studying the
seven conditions of health listed below. Does your current state
of health satisfy all these seven conditions? |
1 |
No fatigue
You should not feel fatigue. Even
if you get a cold once in ten years it means that your body has
been fatigued for years. No animal or insect in nature gets a
cold even in the cold regions of the world.
2 |
Good appetite
If you cannot eat the simplest of
foods joyfully and be grateful for the creator, then you have a weak
appetite. If you find whole wheat bread and whole brown rice and
vegetables delicious, then you have a good appetite and strong
stomach. This is true health.
3 |
Deep sleep
If you dream or talk in your sleep
then your sleeping is not good. Four to six hours of good sleep
are always enough. If you cannot sleep within only minutes of
the time you lie down, whatever the circumstances, then your
mind is filled with fear, lust and illusion.
How many people in the modern world
suffer from insomnia?
4 |
Good memory
Memory is the most important
factor in our lives. It forms the foundation of our personality
and the compass for our existence. Without a good memory we are
nothing but machines. For example, a baby's attraction to fire
can be harmful. But the memory of what a fire can do will
protect him from it for a lifetime.
5 |
Good humor and
friendship
A person who enjoys good health does
not know anger, fear or pain. He is polite and calm under all
circumstances. Your appearance, your voice, your behavior and
even your criticism must be done gratefully for all who are in
your presence. Your words must express gratefulness and joy just like
birds singing in nature. How can we exist without happiness? We
have to be joyful just like a baby who just received a new toy.
If we are not, then we lack good health and good temper. A man
with good health is never angry.
6 |
Think and work
clearly
A person who is in good health has
to be able to think and judge clearly and accurately. He can act
without hesitation and can face all difficulties with diligence
and determination. Hesitation is a sign of illness and slavery.
A person who enjoys good health has clear vision and can overcome chaos.
He can establish order in any place he exists. His
surroundings are an image of his mind. Good behavior, integrity,
health and happiness are all expressions of an understanding of
the laws of the universe as
they are and not as we would like them to
be. |
7 |
Justice
Your improved understanding of
health will lead you to realizing your hopes and dreams. These
dreams will have no greed. This spirit of justice will show
itself in your desire to live according to
the order of the
universe. You will learn humility at its deepest form (the less
often you mention the word "I" the better). This is the most
important condition of health of all.
