The seven stages of illness
Diseases are many, the cause is one!
Sir James Mackenzie closed his medical office in
London and returned to Scotland where he was born. His interests had
turned to the study of the normal in human beings and how to maintain it
- the practice of true preventive medicine. In London he had found that
patients were too often beyond repair.
Now he hoped to answer the question: What were the
bad habits that led to disease?
After a rich life of practice and intelligent
observation, he arrived at three conclusions:
1. Diseases are the result of long-developing
processes which begin early in life and finally lead to saturation of
the body with toxins.
2. Improper eating, living and thinking habits are
the prime cause of this degeneration.
3. The same type of toxin when localized in a joint
causes arthritis; when localized in the liver, hepatitis; in the
kidneys, nephritis; in the skin, dermatitis; in the pancreas, diabetes;
in the brain, insanity.
Food is your best medicine
By: Dr. Henry G. Bieler, MD
With a deep understanding of these remarkable
principles, we better understand all illnesses. This is the medicine of
the far east. This is also one of the fundamentals of natural healing.
Illnesses vary in severity and seriousness depending of the level of
toxicity a body has reached. The higher the toxic level, the deeper and
more serious the illness. And a cure is simply the method that helps
discharge these toxins from the body gradually, and food is the best
medicine.
If a disease is not treated when it appears, it will
develop with time according to the seven stages of illness. The duration
of each stage varies from person to person depending on their
constitution and condition. Sometimes these stages overlap.
This agrees exactly with Dr. Mackenzie's brilliant
observations mentioned above.
1. Fatigue
This is caused by a chaotic and ungrateful life. No
harmony and no gratitude and much animal and junk foods. A passing
flu or general fatigue fall under this category.
2. Pain and suffering
This is caused by low judgment on many levels.
Violating the order of the universe has begun to have consequences. The
patient has begun to feel that all is not well with the world. A chronic
case of tonsillitis, constipation, a recurring diarrhea and insomnia are
examples of this stage.
3. Chronic conditions
The disease has ascended into a more serious level.
The pain and suffering are now permanent and have begun to affect the
person's daily life routine. Rheumatoid arthritis, chronic constipation
and chronic fatigue syndrome are examples of this stage of illness.
4. Neurological diseases
As toxic build up increases it begins to seep into
the nervous system and nervousness and decreased concentration appear.
Multiple sclerosis is an example of this stage of illness.
5. Functional and structural changes in the
organs
As toxic build up continues, it begins to cause
gradual but permanent damage and deformations in the vital organs in the
body. This is always associated with much pain and suffering. Examples
of illnesses at this stage are liver cirrhosis, osteoporosis.
6. Psychological disease
As serious illness begins to affect the vital
organs, psychological disturbances begin to overwhelm the patient. Each
organ is associated with a form of emotion. The liver is associated with
anger, the kidneys with fear and exclusiveness. Most psychological
disorders are a consequence of getting to this stage of physiological
disease.
7. Spiritual disease
This is the last stage as the patient begins to
realize that there is something terribly wrong, and that possibly the
end is near.
All these stages are interrelated and sometimes
overlap. When we think of illness in this context then there are no
incurable diseases.
